Addams Family

With Halloween around the corner, a spooky musical for all students of Rancho Cucamonga High School to enjoy came as well. The choir’s fall musical for the 2019 season was entitled “The Addams Family”, and the dedicated cast of this production worked extremely hard to put it all together.

Most people tend to not realize how much work actually goes into putting together a musical. Ms. Squires, Rancho Cucamonga High School choral director, stated, “The students rehearse four to five days a week for between two to three  hours each rehearsal until the final night.” 

All of these rehearsals are to ensure that each performance will be successful. There are tons of different challenges the choir faces during this stress-inducing time. Selah Eddins, Rancho Cucamonga High School 12th grade student who is also playing Lurch Addams in this musical stated that the hardest part for the cast is show week, “Everyone is stressed and it does not look like the show will get done, but it does.” Ms. Squires added, “The hardest part is that there is never enough time.” 

Time is one of the hardest things that the whole team must go through, but they always get the job done. 

Despite all of the hardships the cast comes in contact with, there are also several different positive aspects of this whole process. 

One of the easiest parts is how much talent our choir has to offer. Ms. Squires mentions that the choir is extremely talented and that it is always easy to push her students to be the best they can ever be. Ms. Squires adds, “The easiest part is putting up a musical is our talent level. We have tons of talented kids so it is never a problem getting kids to work.” 

The hardwork and dedication of  the cast in this musical is truly remarkable. They all strive to perform to the best of their abilities and wow the audience members to come back for more. 

This was proven during the opening night of their production. As the cast performed with their amazing acting and, of course, singing, the audience was astounded the entire time, leaving them wanting more! 

In the end, this whole production team loves what they do. Each cast member is such a unique and talented performer, they all are stars in the making and will go very far in life! Bravo to an amazing performance!
