As everyone knows, Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is. With that said, Spring enlightens old beauty and life that was hidden below the roots of our earth during the cold and dreary seasons. Now with a bright season, life and beauty will be renewed and embellished throughout the world, especially at Rancho Cucamonga High School.
Our school is all about kindness and making new friends; that is what makes us the Rancho Cougars. With the help of Nardine Lotfy, Multi-Club Organizer, she helped give her perspective on renewing friendships as she stated, “I believe any time is a good time to renew friendships, but I feel like Spring is the time when most renewals of friendships begin to occur.” Even though renewing a friendship can happen any time, Spring is the time when most people reflect and realize how many beneficial relationships they turned down and left hanging during the past seasons. Due to Spring, people believe they are given a second chance to reconnect with those old relationships or possibly move on and make new ones. As meetmindful.com gives us an insight on what renewal really means, it states, “Still, it’s good to keep in mind that renewal is a type of change, a mindful way of taking a new look at and a new approach to the existing structures in our lives.” Spring is not saying to diss all old relationships or friendships and replace them with new ones, it’s only saying to make a positive change in the old relationships or friendships to bring new life and hope into them.
“Love is in the Air ”; is that a statement? According to Helen Fischer, a neuroscientist that has written for the mprnews.org, this is a scientifically proven statement and the main culprit of it all is dopamine. Dopamine is a chemical that stimulates the brain to make people want something. Although there are other structures involved with love, “when it comes to new love, dopamine is the main suspect. And with enough of it swirling around your system, you’re prone to fall in love — and fall hard.” Most students who are not neuroscientists majors probably have not even heard of the word `dopamine”. However, most students are educated on the phrase “love is in the air”, since our school is all about spreading love to each other. Junior Filmmaker, Daniel Torres, states that “Yes, I do believe that love is in the air because when people are in a good mood, there is most likely happiness fulfilled within them, and happiness usually leads to love, so love would be in the air.”
Furthermore, there is a lot to expect for this upcoming Spring, so make sure it is spent with the right people. Enjoy the blossom season and remain happy throughout!
